A homeless man has been called a hero after returning $3,300 he found in a lost backpack. Les Fenton, a homeless man from Arizona, found $3,300 in a bag, but rather than keeping the money he-tracked down the owner and gave it back. Fenton, 64, an alcoholic, has been homeless for eight years. He found the backpack with thousands in cash at a train station in Fordshire. He was initially tempted to keep it, but instead took the backpack to community centre. A manager there found a flash drive inside the bag, and on one of the documents there was a CV with the owner name, Stephen Spender, and contact details. “ I was going to use the money to buy a new car,” Spender, a university student, explained. “ I never thought I’d see it again, but this is the greatest thing I’ve never experienced. I think it really is a lesson to keep your faith in people.” Spender later gave Fenton $3 reward. “ I think I’ll get myself a coffee with that,” a disappointed Fenton told journalists.
